Ballooning Amersfoort

Ballooning is the oldest form of aviation. The first hot air balloon took off as early as 1783. The technique has not changed since then. The material has of course been modernised.

The powerful burners give an indescribable kick. You blow a flame of 800 degrees Celsius into an enormous space. The balloon is no less than 3000 square metres. You heat the air to 100 degrees. Because warm air is lighter than cold air, the balloon floats upwards. Then you let yourself be carried along by the wind. Below you is an enchanting little world. Experience the silence and enjoy!

Location

The balloon ride departs from Amersfoort. Depending on the wind direction the route will be chosen. For example, you will fly over Amersfoort, Den Dolder, De Bilt, the Soester dunes, Zeist, Leusden, Scherpenzeel or Woudenberg.

What is going to happen?

When you arrive at the launch site the adventure begins. There the balloon will be assembled together under the supervision of a team of professionals. Ballooning is teamwork! The balloon is filled with warm air by means of a burner and a fan. When there is enough hot air in the balloon, you can get in and take off. A gentle wind will take you over the Dutch landscape. Enjoy the breathtaking views. Of course, during your balloon ride there will be plenty of time to ask the pilot questions. He can tell you a lot about ballooning, but also about the landscape and the surroundings. After about an hour the pilot will start the landing. When the landing is completed safely, everyone helps to pack the balloon. To close the day we will toast with bubbles!

Included

The basic balloon ride includes:

• one hour flight
• shared basket with 8 to 20 passengers
• toast afterwards
• air baptism certificate
• transport back to the boarding point

The Luxury balloon flight has the same programme but in a smaller balloon with 4 to 10 passengers.
