Skydive Zeeland

A tandem jump is the way to get introduced to parachute jumping (skydiving). Together with an instructor, you jump from a plane from 3 km (9,000 feet) altitude. For anyone who thinks a normal tandem jump isn't extreme enough: jump from 13,000 feet! That's a whopping 4 km high! At Extreme Skydive, the free fall lasts twice as long.

Location

Parachute jumping in Zeeland takes place from Midden-Zeeland airfield in Arnemuiden, you've never seen the Zeeland islands like this before! Midden-Zeeland airfield is a regional airport with a grass runway. There is a restaurant on the runway where you can reminisce. When you arrive at the airport, you immediately get in the mood. There is always plenty of activity and you can enjoy all kinds of aircraft continuously flying to and fro. In addition, you will of course see many skydivers, you can admire their entire jump from start to finish. This will make you want to jump even more!

Do you dare?

A parachute jump cannot be compared to anything else. It is an unforgettable, sensational experience. You must have done this once. Almost all daredevils have it on their wish list. An ordinary tandem jump is already a very cool experience. The Extreme Skydive sits one level higher. Because you jump not from 9,000 feet but from 13,000 feet, the free fall takes a full minute!

Theory

You jump together with an experienced instructor, also called a tandem master. This means you don't need to have skydiving experience yourself. You will receive a clear explanation before the jump, so you know exactly what is expected of you. Everything is of course geared towards safety. You get an overall and harness. And a very hip pair of goggles. Otherwise you won't see anything through the wind in your eyes.

Tandem jump from 9,000 feet

Once everything is checked, you'll board the plane and climb up to an altitude of 3 kilometres. From there, you'll have great views. You will be tethered to the instructor and ready for the jump. The jump starts with a free fall. In the process, you reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. This takes about half a minute and then the big parachute opens. On the parachute, you float down slowly. Enjoy the view and listen to the sounds on the ground. It is a surreal experience. Under the watchful eye of your family and friends, you make the perfect landing.

Extreme Skydive from 13,000 feet

You follow almost the same programme at the Extreme Skydive. Around 3 kilometres up, the other skydivers prepare for the jump. They are hooked up to the instructor, the door opens, and you see them jump right out of the plane. Super cool to see! But you stay put. After you have 'dropped off' the first group at 3 kilometres, the door closes again and the plane climbs further. You see the wonderful world beneath you getting smaller and smaller. And then the time comes: 13,000 feet or 4 kilometres. You are attached to your tandem master and slide towards the open door. Only then do you really see how high 4 kilometres is, you suddenly understand why it's called an Extreme Skydive.

And then: the jump. You fall for a whopping 60 seconds before the parachute opens. At 200 kilometres per hour, the Zeeland islands come closer again. Then the instructor opens the parachute and you float gently down. Suddenly, everything is very calm and quiet. A huge contrast to the free fall.

For whom

For the tandem jump, you don't need any experience. You jump together with an experienced instructor (the tandem master). He or she has made thousands of jumps and keeps everything under control. However, there are some requirements in terms of age, health and physique. You can find these under the headings specifications and remarks at the bottom of this page.

Jump together with your friends?

Of course, it's totally cool to share this experience with friends or family. Usually you can jump together from the same plane. A maximum of 2 duos can go up at the same time from Zeeland. The maximum number of duos may be more or less on some days, depending on the availability of instructors and which aircraft is used.
