Beginners course Cirrus Rotterdam

Are you considering getting a pilot's licence? Then this step-up course is a good start. In 2, 4 or 5 hours, you will explore your ambitions together with an instructor. You will fly in a Cirrus from Rotterdam the Hague Airport.

Course content

The step-up course consists of:

• 2, 4 or 5 hours flying with an experienced instructor
• Comprehensive briefing before and debriefing after each flight
• 1 hour simulator with CAPS simulation
• If you will be flying 4 hours or 5 hours, a syllabus will be maintained

You choose whether you want to fly 2 hours, 4 hours or 5 hours. If you choose 2-hour flying, the total programme lasts 1 day. If you choose 4 or 5 hours, the total programme lasts 2 days. These 2 days can be planned consecutively or separately.

Cirrus

You will fly in a Cirrus SR20, a state-of-the-art aircraft. It is much more modern and luxurious than, say, a standard Cessna 172. Flying in Cirrus is flying in the 'Porsche among planes'. It is a unique experience, and unlike any other flying lesson.

At Cirrus, safety is naturally a top priority. The plane is therefore equipped with a parachute (CAPS system). In addition, this plane has a glass cockpit. This means you will find digital instruments in the cockpit instead of the traditional analogue dials and gauges. Also, this aircraft has autopilot. These features have helped make the Cirrus the best-selling sports and teaching aircraft today. The Cirrus SR20 is a four-seater single-engine aircraft. You can carry one passenger during your flying lesson.

Location Rotterdam

Flying lessons are flown from Rotterdam the Hague Airport, formerly Zestienhoven Airport. Rotterdam the Hague Airport (also known as Rotterdam Airport) offers various forms of aviation. This airport is not only used for small aviation, but also for scheduled flights. So there's always plenty of activity and you can enjoy all kinds of planes constantly flying to and fro. This will make you feel even more like taking your own flying lesson.

Overland flight

During the practical part, you fly yourself from Rotterdam to Midden Zeeland Airport and back again. This gives you much more time than a single trial lesson to cover all aspects of flying. A longer flight will also show you how to absorb all the information, as there is a lot involved in flying a plane yourself! You will also see that no day is the same in terms of weather conditions, crowds at the airport and the situation in the air.

Simulator

This start-up course always includes one hour in a static flight simulator. This way you know what to expect when you are in the air. In this simulator, we can mimic the CAPS system. Pulling the lever causes the parachute to deploy.
